To grandmothers house we go...

Or, I should say, we went. My kids and I took a spur-of-the-moment trip to visit my parents. While the trip wasn't quite as restful as I wanted, I did get to see my momma and dad and my grandparents as well (whom I haven't seen in about a year). My children got to spend time with their grandparents and great-grandparents so it was worth it! I was able to get in a quick run but the elevation change (and the very steep hills) really threw me...going from 50 ft elevation where I live to 3000 ft at my parents is a huge difference! I am very thankful that my parents are totally into living a healthier lifestyle though so the food was right on point. Today I have to make up the 8 mi run I missed yesterday, but otherwise I'm right on track exercise-wise too. And now my weight is back down to 145...yay. Hope everyone had a great weekend...

I think I am going to call that my excuse for totally wiping out every time I run! I am at 4300 feet! Yeah, that's it! ;D

Hi Tiffany,
Have you ever written a post detailing how you lost all that weight? I can't recall. Did you follow a specific plan? I'd love to hear your journey, maybe you could do a write up for us, "This Is How I Got To Be So Awesome" or something like that.

Please share your story! And did you ever decide about the Tri?

I am hoping to run a half marathon down at sea level over in Tacoma... we are at nearly 5000 feet. Does it REALLY make a difference?

Leslie- I think the problem mostly comes when you aren't used to running at the higher elevation...since the air is thinner? I think you'll have an easier time with Tacoma than if I were to come run at your elevation (does that make sense?). When is the half in Tacoma? I have family in Washington...that might be fun!

Diane- I don't think I've ever sat down and written a cohesive post about what I've done to lose the weight. I will definitely think about writing something up since I've gotten new followers lately. Thanks for the input. As for the tri, It's really kind of on the back burner till after my half on Sunday...I'm concentrating on doing all the pre-race week stuff and concentrating on eating well blah-blah-blah. Next week I'll buckle down and come up with a plan :)

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by:) Wanted to tell you...I just started reading her second book. I think it was published in 1995. Wow! I started crying like a baby when I read about the feelings of withdrawl an undereater (dieter-ME) feels when they start eating normally. She talks about the feeling of losing control - RIGHT UP MY ALLEY!

Let me do something for you Tiffany. You've been one of my faithful blogbuddies and I have so appreciated your "blog-frienship." I've appreciated your comments. Would you please email me your address? I'd love to send Jean's "Breaking Out of Food Jail" as a gift. I think you would really enjoy it. It definitely needs to be read with the first book. The first book covers the basic principles. She expands quite a bit more in the second.

Please. Thanks.
